im runnng 2 12" fusion power plant subs in a sealed box on a 45 deg angle againt the lower glass. and as far a pointing a box into the vehicle you need to have a complete seal where the box is otherwise you lose about 1/2 sound plus it sounds like dog ---- rear facing or facing upwards in a hatch with a ported box is best as long as it's no closer then the port is wide I/E 3in slot port means at least 3 in from any surface bandpass kinda goes for the same rule. also if done right anything from a high quality 8" sub to 2 18" subs will sound great or like like a ----- fart in a tin can depending on design implacation
sorry so long
beer gotta love it

The box is 1.65 cubic ft (sounds rather small for 2 10's doesn't it ) with a slot port tuned to 43hz. Power is supplied by a crossfire 600w rms amp with a 45hz 12db boost. Just finished it up yesterday for a local car show that I'm going to this weekend, and the shop test mic'd out at 141db...not too shabby for 2 10's and semi-low wattage. This setup was pretty much built with rock music in mind, and even double-bass pedal sounds tight and crisp...there's no sloppiness at all in the sound. Combining that with my Rockford Fosgate Power series 6.5"s (4 total, 2 front 2 back) and my Infinity Perfect tweeters with an Infinity crossover and powered by an Orion 5 channel (500w rms), this thing sounds awesome Set off quite a few car alarms in the walmart parking lot earlier with the new Breaking Benjamin cd someone was so kind to post up
hehe yw, it's pretty good

To the person that said they don't mind a little bass with their korn, that is one of the few rock bands i can think of where bass is almost a requirement :P I love "got the life" while speeding down a nice wide highway on a nice day

I haven't owned subs, I'm still rockin the paper oem speakers. But when I do put mine together I'm gonna face them back because the cars I've rode in with subs seemed to sound best that way.

i dont have any of this crap no more, damn theives. but this was my setup.

2 amps, 4x50 and 2x75

the 4x50 running full range speakers and the 2x75 bridged to run a single 12" MTX in a custom spare tire box me and a friend made.

This thing was loud as hell for what it was. Its a cheapy little $100CDN single voice coil 12" thunder6000. The theives stole both amps and the sub, but didnt get the box (i had it bolted to the spare tire mount, lol). They couldnt get the head unit (installed w/ lots of reinforcement) and never bothered w/ the full range speakers (cerwin vega components and alpine type-s 6.5"s in the rear).

The entire thing was hidden under the stock oem rear covers, the only visual cue is the tweeter in the door and the head unit.

That fibreglass box is strong as hell, no air leaks and once I accidentally closed the garage door on it (1.5 car garage, wooden door, w/ a elec opener).

when I had a hatch, i had 2 polk 10's in a dual bandpass box facing toward eachother, but the box facing the back end of the car, and that ---- sounded great

Damnnnn...I used to have a set of those cerwin's in the back of my old 93 probe gt Powered the 2 15'' strokers off the old-school Earthquake high current amp that was almost 5ft long :P Awesome rating on it though, 40w rms@8ohm for competition...4000w rms @1/2ohm for monster power at 16volts Def. not something to sit in the car and listen to though

I had the dual 2ohm vc strokers, did them in series then parallel to keep it at 2ohms to the amp.... 156db at the dash, and I could bounce quarters like 15ft in the air off the trunk. Definitly not something to crank up while inside the car, which was why I sold the setup. I liked being able to hear too much to keep em :P

I think the best part about that setup was when my ex's mom(MILF) sat on the trunk and while talking over the subs shouted, "I could get off to this!"

I've been in Zeniceguycrx's Car....They should have a disclaimer....Something along the lines of dpn't eat a half an hour before entering the vehicle....These 18's are so loud they make you blow chunks. If you turn them up past 20, things in his shop start falling off the walls and ----...Choice system...But i couldnt enjoy that much bass.
