Default y-8 sleeve info

how much does it cost to get a y-8 block sleeved i did a light hone job on it and it still has a couple scratches up and down from the stock ringlands getting messed up under boost...would that effect it much im doing a rebuild i got some h beam rods and i was wondering do you notch the cylinders and the bottom and how much do you usually take off i know enough to fit and not hit but theres not much metal there

you could just bore it instead of having it sleeved.

there is plenty of metal to grind away for rod clearance, i think i have a pic

take .25 inch both out and down the sleeve about .5-.75 inch wide and you should be good.

make sure all that honing doesnt put your piston to wall clearance out of spec. Service limit is .002" But even at that amount, your car will sound like a diesel at idle. Trust me, i know
