I bought a gsr tranny from a guy pretty cheap that didnt have the differential. i plan on getting an lsd. the tranny has everything and is in great shape except the gear(ring gear i think it is called) that bolts to the lsd differntial is missing. he has one out of an LS tranny. will that one work or do i need a gsr one.

 

Pretty sure the bolt patterns on the ring gear for the GSR is different from the LS. I think its ITR/GSR and B16/LS that have matching bolt patterns, but I'm not 100% on that.

 

even if it bolts to the diff, the gearing is diferent and will not work with the gsr main shaft. So just buy a final drive for a gsr or an itr along with the lsd and you will be good to go.
