Default EMS for an SRT-4

So I have been conversing with an SRT-4 owner and he is wanting to get into tuning his car so I have been trying to share some of my experience with UD tuning so he kinda has an idea what is involved with tuning a car.

But all I have been able to show him so far are UD/CROME references , niether of which (to my knowledge) can he actually use to tune his car.

So I need some help finding a program that would effectively run/tune his car and also details on how to set it up to get him started ... like if there is ecu socketing to be done or what. Thanks

I don't remember but maybe someone has gotten Megasquirt to work with the neon crank trigger.

SRT4 ECU's cannot be chipped. as of right now they can only be "REFLASHED" and as far as I know only by a dealership. There is a piggy back that is very close to standalone. Pretty much as close as u can get. Its formal name is SMT 6 which has been used widely in other applications. it is basically just a hexadecimal editor. Go to www.srtforums.com and search for Psi-Fi Power Paq or PPQ. And one more thing. I heard AEM was making a harness for the SRT. I know of 1 SRT that slapped on one of those AEM EMS and it really did wonder. There are also so many little things to do to get some tunability. Some as cheap as 30 bucks in the form of an adjustable Map Clamp. www.srtforums.com is a great place to find any and all info u need. I owned one for just over a year and loved it. Just could not cut the weather here in jersey with 300HP.

I'm rock'n an SMT6 right now. It's pretty damn nice and it has a lot of cool features. Definately recommended to someone who can't chip their ecu.

The old SMT6 is flawed. The SMT7 is a big improvement.

I hear the best way to improve an srt-4 is hit is with a semi a few times, should do the trick, if not hurl it off a cliff and light it on fire. solves all of lifes problems
