Ok I have some 17" rims and tires that I'm selling on craiglist. I got a message from someone interested, but due to the bad language and wording of the message, assumed it was a "nigerian". Heres the messages so far see what you think:

Him: i wants to know how much if you are selling everything for $450 or is for only the tyre thanks and get back to me soon.

Me: Its the rims and the tires for $450

Him: how much is the total packaged get back to me thanks

Me: $450 plus shipping. Shipping will be $75-$100

Him: just forget abouts the shipping for now, i will do it myself get back to me, cause i wants to pay you with a money orderand when clear we can concluded on how to come and pick it up thanks and have a nice time....

Now when I first read that I was like yep, scammer. Then I read the part that said when the money order clears then we can make arrangements on how it will be shipped. So now I'm stumped.....Should I just let him send a money order then hold it till it clears plus wait about two weeks? Are there any kind of money orders or something he couldn't fake?

 

100% scam. He's taking the gamble that the money order will clear, which sometimes it will.

get the money order, put it in your account and wait. wait awhile. even like a month. if it works, it works, if not, ---- it, you didnt lose anything

 

if you decide to do that, talk to the bank about it first.

 

international money order can take forever to clear even after u made the deposit. and sometimes even AFTER it clears it will bounc back.

Tell him u want a western union money transfer or you will not do it.
personally i will not take risk for 450 dollars

 

if you do anythign with him make sure you keep all the emails and info.
a friend of mine took a money order from a guy who said when it clears ill pick up the truck (selling his truck to the ******)
so he takes it to the bank next thing he knows hes spending hours at the police station. if he hadnt had the info from the transaction he mightve been fucked.

 

if he's gonna pick up, take cash.

Scam, i bet that he has someone else that he is scamming send you a money order, and than when that person doesn't get what they were suspose to get, they come after you seeing how it was in your name.
