yeah so if you saw the thread about the parts car (89 hatch $60) the guy is throwing in a head. it has an AEM tru time cam gear on it. i thought that was pretty cool until i talked to this other guy, he has the built bottom end to the head. he said it has a sohc zc cam, valves, valve springs, retainers, and the cam gear. he said he fried the block, but the pistons and rods are good. high compression, like 11.4 to 1 or somewhere in that area. he told me i can get them for $100. when the motor wasnt fucked, he was eating up b16's with it, not highly modded, but b16's. for a single cam non vtec, that is really good. especially around here. not a whole lot of people are into the single cams around here, so parts are cheap - when you can find them.

No, its actually a built head. its an SI head with a ZC cam. It has aftermarket valves, valve springs, and retainers. and the cam gear. and i get the whole car and the head for $60 - not $100

 

for that price it sound like a stock head w/ a cam gear. it will be slight improvement over a stock a6 cam but not much

 

even if it is still a stock head, it is not bad for $60. Get it and see if you can take pictures of the head, maybe we can tell if it is in fact built. If he did it ask for specs, brands and such. It will be nice to know so you know what you are doing later on.

 

no see, he doesn't know anything about the head- just wants to get rid of it. i talked to the guy who built the head, he told me about it. the guy who has it now just wants it out of his garage.

A SOHC ZC cam is the same as an A6 cam... or close enough not to worry about.
