what would cause this to come on...oil pressure to low...oil leak? is there a seal that goes around the distributor that could leak,why would my oil pressure sensor light come on a new motor?

 

would an oil leak make it come on? like if im finding oil leaking from around the distributor would that cause the psi light to come on? if not the its probably a bad pump.

 

The stock light sucks as far as warning you goes. It will only come on if oil pressure is almost non-existent. So do not drive until you figure out what is wrong. I had my oil line T snap on me and I was spitting oil everywhere. My oil guage kept jumping around and the oil light on the dash didn't come on until the guage read at a steady 0 PSI.

 

oil light means very bad things
bearings/pump/head may be fezucked

 

mine did that, and before i could get off the side of the road it broke the crank!

 

kit has only came all the way on once...before that it just blinked like 3 times...or so then when it came and stayed on I turned the car off immediately and pulled off the side of the road....but as soon as i crunk her back up I have oil psi again no light....

 

the oil light in my brothers onld crx never came on til it needed 3.5quarts, its a waste i dont even have it hooked up, if it comes on more then likely youve done damage to it. just get a oil pressure gauge.

 

check your electrical connections to the sending unit
