im running an evo8 16g with internal wastegate. i want to vent to atmosphere and have the loud noise, but id rather have quality over quantity, and i dont want to spend 200$ on a BOV.

anyways, im wondering what stock bov i can use that will run my setup good, and im using the internal wastegate on the turbo, which I dont know what PSI the evo8 boosts at stock?

What im really trying to avoid is boost leak from cheaping out, and i know factory parts aren't ching chow ----

 

Depending on psi, 1g DSM is your best bet for a factory blow off valve. Crush it, and it's good for 20ish psi...

 

1g dsm= the ----, just my opinion cheap and gets the job done... wish i could a girl like that

 

A stock Evo 8 hits a max of 19psi, but that's with the boost control solenoid controlled by the ecu. The stock Evo 8 wg actuator is 12psi. And go with the uncrushed 1st gen DSM valve, cheap and they work well. I know a few guys with Evo 8's that have removed their stock diverter valve to replace it with 2 DSM valves while still keeping it a recirc system. They say it works rather well too.

 

i would use an evo ix BOV. Good to hold at least 20psi of boost with being crushed
