I will be going turbo a little later on. I have a spare Y8 manifold to put on my Y8 swapped civic (made the mistake and used the A6 again). Well I also have a extra Y8 throttle body. Would I be better off getting a B series throttle body or just getting the Y8 bored out?

Also what kinda of real gains are there with using the Y8 manifold? I keep hearing you won't see a differnce to up to 15hp, no one really knows, just speculates.

 

dont worry about the size of your throttle body, when your forcing air though the plenum on a stock d series its not realy a limiting factor.

a6 manifold is fine

 

A6 manifold is pretty similar to B7. Comparatively small plenum vs Z6/Y8.

There are a number of HMT guys who've made mention of swapping diff IM onto their A6/B7 and the gains.

Care to speculate again?

 

Z6 manifold on a non vtec head down right works. Larger runners. Much smoother plenum. Butt dyno also likes it.

 

butt dyno says a couple more hp in the upper rpms while less hp in the lower
