Default d16a1 in 95 cx? What do you think

I know this is a little bit unorthodox, but I got a good deal on the motor and I know it will bolt to my transmission. Now for the complications. I am rebuilding the motor for boost, so everything will be new in the motor. I am thinking my difficulties will happen with the ignition system. I have the older d16a1 that runs a vac. advance distributor system. does anyone know if this is upgradable to the newer electronic advance system? If that is not a problem I am sure I can get the wiring figured out once I get that problem solved.
I am doing this for the fact that it isa unorthodox, I like to have things that most dont have. I have seen this swap done with the newer d16a1, but not the older, so any info anyone might have from personal experiences would be appreciated. Critacizim is also welcome, because you will be the person getting passed when I am done! j/k Thought, comments, ect all is welcome, just don't try to talk me out of it, because like I said, I am doing it to be different. Honda-tech and thezcr.com are not being very supportive, but that makes me want to do it that much more. Give me some support guys, this is where I see that anything is possible.

When are people gonna learn. Just because it's a D-Series, doesn't mean the D16a1 is the same as the others. Don't believe people when they say "All D-Series are the Same!!!" THEY'RE NOT!!!!

No Tranny other then the D16a1 will work, plus it won't mount in without custom work. You've Seen the ZC not the D16a1. They only go in easily into Older Tegs (The car they came out of) and 84-86 Civic/CRX.

Plus is really isn't a great upgrade. The 87 a1 only had like 110hp.

All good points, maybe I will just do a standard rebuild on this motor and sell it to a crx guy. Then I will get a odb1 zc and go from there, I have read that swap is almost bolt in.

yea those motors will go right into 1sr gen crxs and yes only a d16a1 tranny will fit that. there is a place in ohio that has a few of those trannies for like 75 bucks plus a 5 buck core charge d16a1 is a good motor though
