Default forged internals+cold start up=?

Well I have had my low comp ls/vtec running NA since june, sucks cause im really ready to turbo but now its too cold outside to put the kit on, anyways, when i go outside in the mornings to warm my car up upon first start up and for about 2 minutes or so after my car is really really loud and I have no idea why. I have been told its because I have forged internals and that they cause it to be somewhat loud on first start up. I think i need a valve adjustment cause my valves are a little noisy after its warm, but could any of this be the reason its so loud on intial start up?

Forged pistons will make noise when there cold as they expand to there running size when warm.Adjust your valves it easy.

thats what i figured, i just dont want to have a fucked up motor before i even boost it, i knew it wasnt a rod bearing or anything cause it goes away after its warm, and there are no shavings, and I have been told about the pistons when they are cold, just wasnt sure about it

yep a bit of piston slap is normal when cold

its probobly a good idea to let it warm up good anyways. hondas have a tendancy to run pretty lean on cold starts until they warm up.

They only run lean with bigger injectors.

But it is definitley a bit of piston slap, what kinda of pistons do you have in there? I think the least ammount of piston slap is with SRPs, they have a lower expansion rate and all that crap. Just curious.

If done right they wont make any noise at all.

They shouldn't make any noise at start up. But sometimes if the clearance is too big they will make noise until warm. Anyways run it and the next motor try to tighten up the piston to wall about .001
Have fun
