I've heard some people say bad things abuot using an aluminum F/W with turbo just for saftey reasons (some VERY rare happenings of the the FW exploding when they had BAD detonation, particularly with multi-piece fw's)...but I agree with Rav70...If u got it use it...if not, ---- it... One other tid bit, if you are using bigger injectors, sometimes the light FW can make tuning your idle a pain in the ***. I has less inertia, so sometimes the car will die when come to a stop. You usually have to up your idle speed a little bit. (850 or so)

other than idle and getting car moving, the main thing about the flywheel weight is how you launch the car.

On slicks the heavier the better up to traction limits.

Turbo Y7, about 12 pound flywheel on 20x8x14 slicks at 12 psi..........

pray your tranny survives

ive never seen a good quality aluminum flywheel explode, but ive seen many stock and modified stock ones explode. I have an 8lb flywheel on my accord and i love the throttle response with it. Its a choice of preference though

Edit: yeah it is a little tougher to refine your launches but you do take like 10lb of rotating mass out of the car, so it should make you go a little faster...
