they look symmetrical to me, but do they have a certyain orientation when being installed? ready to assemble project shank-a------- and i would like to know.

yes, all rods have a specific direction that they are to be installed in. Which helps them from spinning rod bearings. I believe that the "thumbnails" in the inside of the Rod Bearing journals should be facing the exhaust side, but again I'm not sure on that one. What you can do though is check out which direction the bearing thumbnails were facing on the old stock rods when you removed them(if you can remember) and copy that. If worst comes to worst you could probably just call up Eagle.
