Default My Clutch Specialities Clutch after 14 months and New setup PICS

I bought a clutch kit off mike over a year ago and install it 14 months ago. The kit was a 6 puck sprung kit for an 86 integra. Mike was great to do business with and responded very quickly with my questions etc. I received the clutch shortly after ordering it:

It came well packaged and everything was there. I did notice that there was not that much material before the rivets would come into contact with either the PP of the flywheel. I just thought that the material was very strong and it would last long. Anyway, I installed it myself in a matter of hours:

I drove it around for a little over a year (14 months) when I decided to swap trannies. During this time it never once saw the track or slicks. This is my daily driver too so I drive it to work everyday with quite a few highway miles. Total I'd say I put about 15k miles on the clutch. I dropped the tranny and decided to look at the clutch and noticed it was down to the rivets on the PP side. Luckily the flywheel side was fine because i already had the ZC flywheel cut once already.

Here are some pics:

I sent mike a PM regarding this issue and he got back to me right away. There is a warranty, but only 6 months which I understand for a clutch like this. He offered to freshen up the kit or I could purchase a new clutch at the regular low price. I had a few clutches and PP's laying around from other cars and swaps that I matched some together.

Instead I opted to throw in my old clutchnet 6 puck and an old HD PP i had laying around from a swap. I used this clutch, but not this PP:

This PP is dual diaphram and destroys clutch cables and everything else along the way:

This new combo works great. I have a normal pedal but it grabs like a ****.

I am not ripping on mike's clutches, I am just informing everyone with what happened to me. They gripped well, never had one slip for as long as I had it.

14 months of getting ripped on doesn't seem too bad to me.

If it seemed thin when you got it, might have been a good idea to check the thickness and see if it was in spec and look into warrantying it then.

I agree with ****.

I didnt have my car that long after I installed mine but like you had no problems or thought that it was a bad product. If it was a dailey driver you have to consider that in traffic sometimes without thinking people tend to "ride" the clucth wich leads to premature wear. Not saying that you wore it out prematurely but I sometimes found myself doing this without thinking

couldn't you have just put a new disc in it? Did you check the specs on the flywheel step?

you never install a new disc or pressure plate on a unsurfaced flywheel or shitty pp, its like putting on new rotors with shitty worn out brake pads.

slipping always wears clutches out the most. can't really wear when there's no contact or no motion. also that's the only time heat is generated.
