Well it came to me yesterday at work and couldn't stop thinking about it and what would have to be done. ANyways. My cousin has a MK3 jetta that he's had nothing but troubles and now the car has sat for 2 years in his mom's garage. The tranny took a ---- and finding a tranny is extremely hard up here in WI and I called some junkyards and they told me if they had one it would be 7-800!!! ---- that ----! I was thinking since I saw a B18A1 at my local pick and pull and I could score the hole setup for 225 longblock and tranny. It's nice since the Jetta uses a cable clutch setup and with the A1 tranny is cable. I'd make the mounts but where I can get custom axles made? I'd modify the shift linkage and ditch that shitty VW shifter assembly. Next I'd run it off a PR4 obd0 ecu to make things alil simplier. I'd use the entire engine harness off the teg and part of the dash harness and use the teg cluster too. I just don't have any idea of where or how much the axles would run. The Jetta has a Neuspeed supercharger that I would pull of and sell to fund it. Any problems you'd see that I'd run into? Don't suggest a VR6 cause I don't even want to ---- around with VW engines and ---- cause that just gives me a headache and the price of that ---- is retarded. I don't see having a problem fitting it into the engine bay or anything like that. It's just the axles are what making think twice and how to make them.

wont fit that car.... are there not any u-pul-it places aroudn there? you should be able to use just about any VW tranny (non-hydro) from 85-99.5...
