I need to know if my stock fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are o.k to use with dsm 450 injectors. I plan on running 7 lbs of boost using the edelbrock turbo kit minus the intake mani using crome as fuel management(p2. Will the stock fuel system plus 450 injectors be o'k' to use or will I run into problems. Thanks allot.

 

Stock fpr and pump will be fine with 450's for 7psi.

 

So at what point will I have to upgrade the fuel system? Am I running a risk of damaging my engine with this set up or should I be good until I raise boost?

 

Stock fuel pump can flow fine. Changing it for a newer higher volume pump is really just precautionary. A good precaution but not 100% necessary until you are making larger numbers than most are making.

 

I thought the "rule of thumb" was over 250 HP for an upgraded pump?

 

He's not going to make 250 horsepower out of that turbo that comes with the Edelbrock kit at 7psi.

 

i was using 440's on my b18b at 8 psi on stock fuel pump and regulator. ive since upgraded to a walbro and 550's, both for peace of mind, and cause im running more psi. to answer your question, you can do it on stock fpr and pump
