Default trying to burn a 256k file to a SST 27Sf512 chip

I am useing a moates burn 1 and I want to burn a 256k file To my 27sf512 chip. From what i have found on the moates.net site you have to change the address of where you want to program the chip. how ever they onley give address setting for up to 64k. Is 64k The limit for a 27SF512, If not how can I burn a lager file. Most of the bin files (that are in the bin dipositor)that are for B series motors are 256k.

Ok, here we have a issue of you using 256kb (kilo bits) and everyone else probably thinking you're meaning KB (kilobytes).

..your ROM file is 32KB (256Kb).. yo use the Moates burner for this, set your Buffer Start address to 0000, Buffer End Address to 7FFF, and your device start address to 8000, and device ending should be FFFF... then load your buffer (load the ROM), click Erase Chip (this needs to be done with teh SSTs), then Program Chip. Wa-la.. all done.

and yes I am using the offset of 8000
because it adds all the empty data in the locations before the offset. so while there may be 64K of data on the chip, half of it is useful.

if you pull your bin off the chip and inspect it after burning, you will probably see that the first 32K of it is just a bunch of blank data like zero's until the 0x08000 offset.

Thank you that should clear up my problem.
