No action went down the 20th. It was sunny in B-Ham which meant a full-on storm in BC as usual. I knew the turbo was pretty fucked up before I left home, but I was determined to get on the ------- track. The car was not running anywhere near full power and I set it to baseline boost (no leak) in hopes that if I did run, I would still have enough turbo bearings to get me home with some oil left in the engine. AS we got closer it was pretty obvious the rain had cancelled the event so I grabbed the e-brake and spun back toward home on a flooding highway 11. I was pissed off at this point and after a third gear rip up a hill the turbo started sounding very off-note and was vibrating slightly. I mean my feet felt tingly on the pedals. I stopped and had some drinks before coming home. In all I used up almost two quarts of oil in ~50 miles of driving without any external oil leaks. New turbo and retune for 10 psi this Friday, but it will probably rain out again.

 

wow. where did youget the turbo from and did you get it like this?

 

down2turbo on ebay. Oil pressure set to 20psi at idle, Castrol Syntec 10w-40. Bearings have about .25" play. You might say something fucked up. I only ran the ****** for what, a month? Not even two months!

 

Nothing beats driving on flooded roads with a fucked up car with a few drinks in your belly. :P
