? on cam gear for a6 head on y8 block
yup, they are the same number of the teeth, the key may be slight different in placement, just get an adjustable, not to spendy. I've got an edelbrock and it's pretty nice.
And why are you putting an a6 head on a y8 block ??

I picked up a y8 shortblock and tranny for 100 bucks and I have a a6 head laying around from an old minime setup. I'm tired of running a vtec setup and then I'll be able to take apart my y5 head and make it run on 4v permanently instead of this stupid 3v till vtec ----. Plus with it using 3v's until the 4v opens it's takes alil longer for my turbo to spool up.
run what you got I guess.
get a y7 head, you'll be way happier than the a6. It's got bigger valves and more reasonable combustion chamber size. With the a6 head, you'd be looking at under 9:1 or so. Fine with boost, but no need to go that low...

Yeah I saw that when I did the compression on the CR calc. it came up under 9. It's gonna be boosted but damn I have a cometic HG to put on and it'd drop it lower then that. Maybe I'll just pick up a y7 head or my local pick and pull has a complete y7 for 150.
