I have a question from an earlier post of mine- will a stock 02 wrx turbo do well on a d16y7?

 

Well if they put it on the 2.0 wrx motor and it pulls on that most likely it will pull on your 1.6.

 

I'm sure it would work. But if I remember correctly, the WRX turbo has kind of a funky turbine housing, which would make it a pain in the *** to work with.

Some times finding the weird fittings and flanges is time consuming and costly...

 

what im asking is, is too big, will it create tons of lag- or is it a good size all that kinda ---- smart ***- I dont know alot, and Im just trying to learn what is what ok

i think it is a tdo4-13g...its pretty small...i think it works so well on the wrx since it runs like 12 psi stock...and plus it doesnt rev as high as a d so it probably will not pull all the way to redline

Just saying, if it work on a 2.0, it should be fine for something slighty smaller

wrx turbos are pretty small

they might come on a bigger engine, but they spool up and die off REAL fookin fast.

I think it would be a pretty good mate for astock d16

 

i like it on mine...
193whp 187wtq. that's street tune w/o any timing tuning on the dyno. there's still more power to be had.
i'm moving to a .48/.60 t3 though for more topend.
it is fun though...quick spool and fully spooled at 3-3.5k rpm.

 

same it's an ok turbo but just a bit too small for me........loses a bit in topend
