I just got my built zc and turbo kit together then got my ecu chipped. now im hitting rev limiter at 3800 inevery gear. im only throwing a code #6, and thats an easy fix. but wil this cause me to go into limp mode? other than the rev limiting the car runs great. The guy that chiped it put the launch control at 3800 but said that he set the top limiter at 7200 so what is causing the low limiter? if you have any ideas let me know thanks, Jay

 

Code six is your coolant temp. I don't beleive that should throw you into limp mode. How's your VSS? is it working properly?

Yes. if its reading wrong. I think you should look esle where though.

 

if this is in a crx it doesnt have a VSS it runs with a cable. so thats kinda out of the question. last time my zc did that back in the day it was my crank angle sensor

 

is your car vtec or non and what kinda of ecu are you running

 

its a dohc non vtec zc with a pm6 ecu. wouldnt the crank angle sensor throw a code if there was something wrong with it? Anymore ideas?

Try turning off launch control. It could very well be your VSS (which is present in the crx).
