Try turning off launch control. It could very well be your VSS (which is present in the crx).
yup, on the back of the guage cluster with the cable driven speedo's is where the VSS is. The ecu still uses that information as a refference and if something is not right, the ecu will normally throw a code 17 (VSS) for it and your launch control etc. can be screwy. It could be a number of things but that was one that came to mind.

if ur vss is bad it will.... 1. throw the code and 2. only rev to 3800 which is the launch control. the launch control is set to turn off at a certain speed. if it doesn't kno how fast your going then bam.... ur stuck at 3800. fix ur vss and ur good to go.

hahaha, I thought that code 17 was electrical overload

I knew my VSS cable was snapped but didnt think anything bad would happen of it other than not knowing my speed

And I blew my motor anyways... ----

replace or check your crank angle sensors and the wiring all the way back to the ecu had the same fu*king problem got in fixed at a local shop good luck!
