Default HMT:DIY free horsepower

Just like the title says. I know everyone has their own little ghetto ways of making their cars run a bit better. So post em up. Like disconnecting the throttle body heater or shimming the hood to get added ventalation, or even some racing trick like brake boosting. Lets all share in the ghetto free HP wealth.

I took out just about all the coolant lines to the intake manifold and picked up a few ponies when i was n/a. I used to take off my power steering belt when i was at the track to pick up 2 tenths, and i ditched my a/c. Taking 50lbs off the front end of the car was noticeable for me

Air chissle out all the sound deadening material and theres more matting behind the dash. Not exaclty HP but it helps.

Remove the slack from your throttle cable. You wouldn't believe how many cars I see that have tons of slack and when I point it out people just shrug their shoulders and go " uh huh..."

And the most obvious, A TUNE UP! not just plugs and bling bling plug wires, but fuel filter, carbon cleaner, eveything.

disable IM butterfly valves by disconnecting the solenoid from the vacuum source....
