They have been around for a while now

When they first put up that site, the only really good WB options were the FJO or Motec and they cost well over $1000 each.

Now you have complete widebands for $250+

Soldering those all together would still save you a little coin, but who wants the hassle anymore.

Heck, even the price on the AEM uego's (sp?) has come down alot since i last looked into them...summit now has them for $475 i think for the complete setup. Still a little high for me though. For the time being, could i get away with an EGT gauge to tell where i'm at until dyno time?

EGT tells you nothing about Air/Fuel ratios...

How so? I've always understood it as the leaner you run, the hotter things burn...ergo, higher egt readings, and vice versa. Doesn't really matter anymore anyway...i'll be gettin a hold of you in a little bit xenocron...I'm down to the last few parts for my turbo setup, and i think i want you to do the chipping/tuning for me.

you're kind of right and kind of wrong, egt's are mostly used to tune/monitor ign., but when you're running lean, yeah, you're egt's are higher.

Not always...sometime you will get higher EGT readings if you retard your ignition and most of the charge is burning in the manifold (anti-lag).

Ignition tuning with a EGT is very tricky and still really doesnt tell you what your AFRs are. Like you cant say at X degrees I am at X A/F ratio...doesnt work like that.

i know that, but you do run hotter when you run lean, that's all i was saying, there's no way to tell if you're running hot from running lean or if it's from too little timing, that's why it really helps to have an egt and wideband, if your afrs are in check on the wideband, and you're running high egt's, it's more than likely timing related.
