Default Charge Piping Size

Hey experts, got a question: I've got a friend who replaced all the piping on a stock turbo car with bigger piping and said the max boost dropped. The only way this can happen is if there are leaks correct?

not nessescerily... what was your friends setup? Bigger charge piping needs more air to fill it up

if the charge pipes are flexible they may be expanding at high boost therefore lowering boost pressure
