how much boost can i safly run on a stock b16 that is tuned before i ---- it up.

Hehe, beautiful reply Whitey The engines reliability isn't dependent on how much boost you can run. It's more on how much power your pushing out of that engine and how well is it tuned. The setup you will be running is going to have a great effect on the hp and tuneability. I personally wouldn't puch much more than 250-275ish on stock internals but don't expect those numbers being untuned. Theres alot more involved so read up!

i gotta b16 99si i wouldn't go higher than 11, well tunned.
i've hit 14 & 18 in 5th gear for about 5 seconds tops and nothing happened. but 11 is max on stock internals.

 

ya i was not shore i have a friend that is running like 9 psi and has like 276 whp and i kinda thought that that was pushing it

y dont we try to help people instead of giving them lame *** answers, after all if he wanted bs replys he woulda posted HT right? but bro its not how much boost your running nates, 276whp civic on 9psi is because one its tuned and 2 its a sc61 turbo, fairly big, with my old t3t4 .48/.60 it would take probably 12-14 psi to reach that. anyone know what leed's running on his b16/sc61? i think that has over 300whp right?
