Well, ebay's got some rebuild kits, cheapturbo.com I beleive has some, or you could contact Custom Coach on here about buying a rebuilt center section if he's got those in stock. I'm not sure I would attempt to do it myself especially if it needs to be rebalanced... better off leaving that to the pro's if you really want to rebuild. But another option you have which might be cheaper than rebuilding, is finding another junkyard turbo thats in good shape. Theres many options out there, so good luck.

I think he needs new seals and gskets, not an entire center piece.

yeah, rebuild kit comes with bearings. just dont use them.

its easy to do just do the seals and clips, put it back toghther and your done.

make sure u mark the shaft and the compressor wheel when u take it apart.

True, I'm just saying if the turbo is worse than just seals (the turbines hitting the housings :P) then it would be worth just getting a replacement.

turbocity.com has em around 100 bucks usually

email them to find the correct part #. Then send the shaft out to be microbalanced at a machine shop and you're good to go.

i tried rebuilding a ihirhb5 off a subaru and it was a pain. there are very small screws that hold the thrust bearing in and they have torques bits on them. About every bolt/screw in the thing wanted to strip out. Needless to say i didnt put the turbo back together. Now a mitu turbo is pretty easy to rebuild once you get past the jiant snap ring.
