Default Welders

What kind of welders do you guys use to make manifolds. What would be good to do basic log manis, downpipes, exhaust, ic piping, and maybe some more complex manifolds. I'm pretty sure I'd be out of my price range to look at a TIG. I'm sure most of you use migs, what kind of mig do you use?

ive used a 135 amp Bluepoint (Snap-On) mig welder, worked great. A good tig will probably run you into the thousand plus range... a good mig you could score for a few hundred

I used a lincoln mig pac 15. The manifold is about 75% done with welding. Its not as pretty as TIG but it holds air and won't break so I really don't give a ---- about the fashion show part of it. I can get pics this weekend maybe of what the welds look like.

I just bought a Millermatic 175 and added on the spool gun option so i can weld alluminum=) out the door @ $1531..ouch but i think its worth it. everybody that i talk to says tig is way harder to learn than mig. i did this the second day i owned the mashine.

heres some pics of my first project =)
