Is there any point to getting a wire feed?

I like most people can't afford a Tig.

Thats more than a wire feed. Its a mig.A wire feed is for ok if your short on cash. But all the cool guys have a mig and the ballers have a tig.

What I meant was that TIG for me is outta the question. So is it worth spending the money on a Wire Feed, or just save up and get a Mig.

What is the major difference, quality, ease, price.

Well a mig is going to give you a cleaner weld than just a wire feed. With a mig you can weld stainless steel too(with the right gas).Plus most MIGs have a better heat/feed adjustment(couse they are more expensive=more fucntions) wich makes it easier to penetrate and give a better weld.

But If you just want something for charge pipes and exhaust, just a wire feed is fine.

i have a farmhand 115 wire feed /mig i got at tractor supply co.(lol) it comes with regulator and is setup for mig all it needs is the tank...i think i got a package deal with welder..startup kit..and autodark helmet for just about 300..even just using the fluxedcore makes decent weld..so you can do ok without spending money refilling mig gas all the time
