removing my power steering...

Default removing my power steering...

i'm planning on taking out my power steering this weekend on my 00 y7 civic . i was wondering if there's anything special i have to do other than just pull the pump and the lines.

pull the pump and connect the lines.

I pulled the lines all the way to the steering rack and left it.
Drove it like that for about 4 years.

Ive heard it can cause a problem with your steering rack but i didnt experience one.

why dont you jus disconnect the belt for now to see if u even like it, feels a little rough and u want it back, slap the bitch on before u tear it apart to where its unreplacable.

+1 There was a write up on H-T how to remove your PS pump without totally screwing up your rack. I think the idea was to leave some fluid in there and loop the inlet and outlet somehow. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but figured it was more trouble than it was worth.
