Default Engine Swap Problems OBD2-OBD1

My friend just swapped a 96 obd2 b18c-r into his obd1 94 integra LS. He is not getting any spark, he double cheacked his wiring, and replaced his coil and icm, but still no spark. He is getting a solid cel when he jumps for codes, but i hooked his p73 up in my car and it started up just fine. He is using an obd1 to obd2 conversion harness from evasivemotorsports.com, do you think his obd conversion harness could be the problem.

u dont need to convert to obd2? why dont u jus convert the motor to obd1. use the wire harness off the original integra motor(ls) then if im not mistaken use ur LS injectors and LS distributor then run the vtec wires from the ecu cuz if im not mistaken ur car doesn't even have the vtec wires on ur engine harness... everyone else is tryna stay away from obd2 and ur converting to it =x

this is the owner of the car

that was the original plan to convert the motor to obd1 we had the injectors swapped, and i cut off one of the flages on the LS dizzy so it would fit with the vtec soliniod, but then it still did not fit, and at that point i would have had to buy a new gsr or type r dizzy and a new ecu.

after looking at prices i decided it was cheaper to buy a conversion harness and use the obd2 injectors and dizzy.

in case ur wondering i bought the obd2 motor for a 99gsr sedan, but then ended up with a 94 LS

also other that tranny and valve cover grounds which ones are there.

i looked over all my grounds, and checked the wires that i had to lengthen to the other side, and then i checkeed the plugs that i thought just plugged right up and i noticed some of the wires on the car (obd1) side did not lead out of the plug on the car side. I am assuming this is not good. So i am considering going back to converting the engine to obd1 via using the LS engine harness.

My question is i know the alternator, injectors and dizzy are diff between obd1 and obd2, is this just a plug thing i could rewire or would io need a new dizzy, the LS dizzy dont fit.

I would definatly go back to OBD1, use the entire LS engine harness, discard any of the obd2 ---- on the engine. You SHOULD be able to make the LS obd1 dizzy work on that engine by chopping the ---- out of the legs, I dont see why it wouldnt fit? You maybe able to use the obd2 distributor and wire in the external CPS (2 wires). As far as ecu when your obd1.. I wouldnt even ---- around trying to find a P72 or 73, just get a P28 chip it and you can be fully programmable with uberdata.

As i was taking off the obd2 harness off my engine i noticed two of the plugs were the same and had 13 wires each. They were on opposite sides of the car so I lengthened all the wires and swithed which nes they plugged into and my car ran.

I have the obd1 harness on the car and the obd2 harness on the engine and I started it up with the obd1 LS ecu and it worked. But due to the intrest of money i am going to use the obd2 p73 ecu because i already bought the harness and i dont want to buy a new ecu, but i always have the option of converting back to obd1 by just swapping the ecu, this is nice incase i want to boost later on down the road.

thanks for the help
