Before I screwed up my motor at 5psi I used to be able to smash 2nd and fry the tires off. But now, at 8.5psi I smash 2nd and get a little chirp if i'm lucky, 3rd is a no go, but when I was n/a with the new build, I could chirp 3rd no problem. What gives?! I think I might unhook my BOV for a few minutes and see if I can bake 2nd.

On a side note, my new clutch chatters a lot, but it's a sprung hub. Used the alignment tool to install it, but the thing chatters all the time, WTF?!

i use to beable to rev it up at like a 30mph roll and break the tires loose and then twoards the end of the clutch life, it was a no go

 

It's a brand new ceremic clutch from 88 turbo crx.

Your throwout bearing might be going

Mine did exactly what you descripe, loss of power and a grinding/clattering noise up until about 50km/h

Took about 2 days for it to take a ---- nd Id have to row thrrough the gears just to get her going, no power at all

Still havent fixed it lol, waiting my new tranny and a clutch flywheel form a member

 

The cluch doesn't slip at on the highway or anything (i'd hope not, it's brand new!) and the throw out bearing came with the clutch and it was new too.

 

Your clutch isn't slipping, your motor just ain't making the power.

 

don't push your clutch in all the way, I had that problem w/ my clutch specialties clutch, all you have to do is push it in as minimally as possible and it will not chatter anymore.

 

That doesn't sound like fun. My room mates truck chatters and squeekes like a mother ******. If you press the clutch peddle in just a tiny bit it goes away.
