I know a few 5.0 guys, and I'm thinking about buy a 4banger-auto car and slapping a 5.0L with a an auto C4/6 tranny and twin turboing it via "flipped shorty headers" and 2 SVO .60/.63 turbos...

Just wondering if there are any HMT style guys on this board, hell we got HMT SHOs, why not 5.0's..

 

There seemed to be a few of them sticking up for the 5.0's in the "mustangs are slow" thread.

 

My buddy had an 85 Mustang and it was fun till the fuel line exploded and the car went up in flames. Mustangs are such pieces of ----

 

HMT is HMT, I say welcome them all, domestic, import, what have ya...

I would buy the 2.3ltr turbo stang, and build the ---- out of it. there is a guy here with one, you would swear its a 5.0 till you hear the BOV. ssseeeexxxxyyyyy.....at 25psi blowing off...

the rule of thumb ive always been told, an older car like that, if it was made for a V-8, the factory wouldve put a V-8 in it. the 4cyl cars were made for 4cyl....

body mounts/chassis/drive-train etc will all have to be switched out to do it right... and if you are gonna do everything you say...i would consider a different platform.

IMO if you wanna go turbo on a mustang, build the 2.3ltr. they are already bullet proof...and parts are cheap. those 2 combos make me

 

or swap in the 2.3 turbo t-bird motor in there.
