1.8 liter VW 8v turbo recipe
There are merits for running the knock sensor equipped ignition, but it doesn't take all that fiddling.
170 whp from the stock CIS-E setups are about the max you can expect. You can get 220 from one of the turbo CIS fuel distributors or from one of the Audi 5-cyl distributors with the fifth injector blocked off.
One of the Mercedes V8 CIS setups works to well past 400 hp, but you have to mod your intake manifold for a second set of injectors.
One of the A1 guys locally has an old Rajay turbo kit he's running at 6 psi, stock everything. It's a respectable car, VW makes a good engine.
