My friend car have this knocking noise in his D16a in his CRX Si. The knocking noise is very loud. Anyone know why that noise is there?

 

check the timing...if you have to ask HOW do you do that. take it to a shop

 

could be alot of things man..

 

use better gas :P

 

hmmmm...yeah check timing, but could be a lot of other things...someting loose in the engine bay etc.

 

does it knock all the time or under WOT is it coming from the engine for sure or what. spacifics man

Knocking...you said it was loud, is it more like someone banging on a peice of metal with a hammer? Does the engine run properly? I had this happen to my old D15b, thought it was a broken rod but I was totally puzzled b/c it ran just fine. Turns out one of the bolts that holds the rod around the crankshaft had worked itself free and was floating around in the crankcase. Could have probably replaced the rod but it was a great excuse to go ahead with my ZC swap. -Z

 

could mean anything bro... bad rod... bad bearings... same thing that happened to zac... low oil pressure... thats the first trhing I would check though.... see if you have suffiecient oil pressure. Hook up a oil gauge and see what it reads. after that pin point where the noise is coming from.
