clutch alignment tool??
i'm picking up a clutch tomorrow and it doesn't have a clutch alignment tool, i know you can order them from act for like 5 bucks, but then i have to wait for it to get here :P anyways, the only time i've ever changed a clutch was when swapping a tranny/clutch combo on to a new engine that was out of the car, it was a pain in the *** to get the splines on the tranny to line up on the clutch, is this what an alignment tool is for? anyways, i'm going to take my engine out b/c i'm going to fill in my motor mounts too, so will i have a problem not using an alignment tool?
autozone on western has them in stock for like $8.00. i checked the other day when i was there getting a new cap/rotor. they said it was for the OEM clutch, but they've heard it works for the ACT one to.
if not, go to an import shop in town and see if they will lend you one

edit
maybe i can get the alignment tool when they do his new clutch?
The alignment tool aligns the interior plate with the outer clutch plate and the outer clutch plate is aligned with dowel pins on your engine. I have no idea exactly what all that's called, but when you tighten up all your 12 pt bolts, everything should line up with the tranny shaft.
Getting the splines to line up is another story. Took me 2 hours to get it right on my own, a buddy of mine just picked up his tranny and threw it on there like it was nothing. Just rotated the tranny in his arms until it went in. ******.
And you don't have to take the whole engine out to fill the mounts. Just do one side at a time. Unless you want to take it out.

yeah, i'm good friends with ben, we went to high school together and use to lift together too, i just don't see them letting anyone 'borrow' anything, they run a pretty 'stingy' business up there, and if i went up there asking him to borrow one, he would prolly just offer to put the clutch in for me, which i don't even feel like going thruogh :P i might give him a call and see, if he won't, i think bobby up at hp might, i've never knocked his shop, but mostly b/c nobody even mentions them b/c nobody goes there
