Default Standalone capabilities

Hi guys,

I don't think i'm in the market for something like this, but was wondering if it even exists, or it this would be a practical idea. What if you had a standalone with an integrated (or piggyback) wideband o2, and instead of tuning your fuel maps, you just input what AFR you wanted for different pressure levels (higher in vacuum, 12.0 in boost and so on) and the standalone just tried to hit your target afr? Essentially aftermarket closed-loop. Would this be practical? Err.., I mean would it work at all? And then you had some sort of auto-timing thing, I dunno how that would work...

From what I understand Hondata has something similar (Auto-tune). I've never seen it in action though. That would make for super easy, dipshit-proof tuning......perfect for me.

Hondata has it but I heard it sucks.

AEM, Autronic, Motec, Accel DFI, SpeedPro, Haltech...etc etc I believe all(or most) of those I listed and more of the top notch standalones have this capability.

However, you cant expect an ECU to tune it self. If you can get the ECU tuned well (within a +/- 5% margin of error) then these autotune features will take care of the rest generally from normal street or track driving.

A human always does this better than a computer.
