I plan to get an aftermarket high flow cat and the o2 simulator to avoid CEL. will this ensure that i'll pass smog with a turbo setup? or will there be more to this?

 

you will not pass smog w/ a turbo setup unless you pay someone a tone of $ to do it illegally. I had to smog in CA last tuesday and I just took my car all the way back to stock.

 

get a smog license

 

i don't live in cali, but won't you pass smog if you take off the top charge pipe and replace it with the stock intake, and put the stock injectors/stock fuel management back in/along with the catalytic if you took it off. that'll be alot easier then taking off the whole setup. don't you have to go for smog inspections every year? we use to get inspected here in florida.

well how bout if i remove everything except for the high flow cat and install an oem header? will it pass then? Also, if any..whats the easiest and cheapest way to pass with out taking apart the whole setup? especially the injectors and SAFC.

 

pay someone to pass it illegally is the easiest way

 

i think if you leave the turbo and manifold, unless you have some huge manifold, and put a factory looking heatshield over the turbo you can pass visual. of coarse you'll have to take off the top charge pipe and install the factory aif filter box just to make it look OEM. also run the OEM fuel management and injectors.

 

and spin the ---- out of your turbo, even if they'd let you pass visual here like that (which tbey wouldn't) trust me
