Boosting a D16Y7 (96-00 DX)
well, I plan on turboing my 99 Dx soon, So far i plan on running 6psi on either a T25 or a 14b. I will be using the greddy ex manifold off the 92-95 turbo kit, custom intercooler piping 2" to intercooler 21/4" after. custom 3" downpipe, Greddy EGT autometer boost guage, I would like to use the Hondata ECU but they don't make one for my car/engine. anyone have any ideas on how I should add fuel/control spark? Also, is 6psi safe as long as I have enough fuel and not too much timing? Any feedback on turboing my D16Y7 would be VERY helpful THANKS!!!

Hey, I did this on my 97 del sol s.
It's quite a job... well maybe not to bad, but I upgraded my intake manifold to a d16y8 manifold (simply because the charge pipes I got were built for the Y8 manifold).
I'm pushing 10 psi with no intercooler; originally I used the Greddy FCU to control fuel (its a piggy back) and it was running fine.
With the ECU we have, we can run approximately UP to 1.5 psi and still keep the mixture rich. However, when I pulled the greddy box to upgrade to the AFC (whilst I was waiting for it to come in the mail) I was running around 2-3 psi (the wastegate on my turbo wont go any smaller, but if you pull off the BOV you dont get anymore then .8 to 1 lb
) anyways it was burning so lean at that point I was covering the guys behind me in my white clouds of smoke.
If you want, I can sell you my old greddy box it will be good up to 10.5 lbs (passed that you'll need larger injectors anyway). Or you can do like I'm doing now (SAFC hack) which can work with factory injectors up to it seems about 9-10.5 psi.
You've got a lot of options as far as fuel management goes, don't let that worry you. And about the timing, just to be safe, you can undo the three bolts (in a triangle) holding your distro. and pull it towards the front of your car, this will retard the timing enough to be very safe at 6 psi.
I'd also like to hear what results you feel from the throttle/vacuums with the Y7 manifold. I think it might actually be better for boosting, because the air will get into each cylinder more rapidly. But its drawback is a small vacuum reservoir.
Anyways, IM me if you need to ask any other questions as I _have_ done this

I just upgraded my ECU to OBD1, you need an ecu auto or manual doesn't matter, you can convert it to manual, and the wiring harness, I got from eBay for $170, got Ecu Free, thanks to the employees at the Junkyard 
, and it works perfect. Then you can use the greddy Blue or Black box

Right now the AFC-hack on prelude injectors, I just realized I said factory injectors... In reality you'll either need to control the fuel system itself (like the black box of lies, or FMU) or upgrade the injectors with the AFC Hack (thats kind of how I'm doing it).
And for the record, yes it is running a little lean.
I've also upgraded to a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump.
