What do the colors signify i see its all heavily poulated areas but i dont think thats it

its the heavily populated areas, but the $$$$$ also play a factor, cuz most of the heavy populations areas are too poor to have alot of things that give off light.

for example, look at hati and cuba, compared to jamaica (me )and pueto rico, the poorer countries have less light.

also look at america, europe and japan, compared to the rest of the world.
