I know this seems a bit early, but next year is when I start college. My mom believes I need a "dependable car" for next year, running to Pittsburgh and back twice a week, and whereever else I go. She's willing to co-sign a loan for me for up to $10,000. I, of course, have to pay every cent of this loan, but I was wondering what you guys think I should get. I've had a few cars running around in my mind.. but I need something with decent gas mileage (28 MPG or so), reasonably quick, and something that looks nice.

Shoot out some ideas, I'd like to think about this before I even start to go and look for cars. Open for any/all ideas, let's hear them

 

find a cheaper ek, throw a b series in.

i would look at getting the cheapest thing possible, not spending every dime of that 10G. you could find a really nice honda for under 6G probably with a swap, and it would get you good mileage, be fast, and look good. so yeah, what warric_k said...

 

get a 'pimpnobile' look into a beemer, audi, or even a good ole benzo

I'd get a DC2 (integra) for sure, they ride nice, handle well and have several options for upgrades. Bet you could find a pretty decent GSR for under 10 grand. What ever car you do decide to get be sure to get one that hasnt been fucked with.

Buy a crx/civic cash and screw the loan. Loans are about the worse thing a young person can do in my opinion.

 

Hell you shold be able to buy a CRX SiR for tha much.

 

get a stock car, 94+teg or ek (96+ civic).

I might be getting a 96 dx HB for $3500cdn, you would have like 7+g to get it tip top.
