Default Something you don't wanna see in your oil pan...

So I decide to drop my oil pan to try and fix a dent that was in it. I filtered the residual oil through a rag so I could collect any pieces. Wow, not a pretty sight:

Sure hope those aren't ring pieces. Would explain why my gas wreaks of oil

Yeah man, you're screwed. It looks like that is what you would get if you went netting off the hudson river.. well maybe a boot and dirty needle to add to the mix. :P

Here's what I don't understand. How would these broken rings slip between the piston and cylinder wall? And I would atleast expect some clattering, but no...

Do a compression test. Still got the old oil filter?

Story---one time I am changing the oil in my wifes vehicle and i pull the filter, and hear a rattling noise. WTF so I cut the filter open and there was a bolt in the filter. nothing wrong with the engine everything runs/works fine, but it was a scary moment.

Pulled my oil pan once, found a valve cover bolt that brock when I did my ZC swap. It was a little chewed but I hd to grind it off when I did the swap so I don't think it hit anything! Thank Goodness!!!!
