does your motor knock at all?

maybe those are peices of the pan inside that are jsut fallin apart
No, no knocking.

While I had the pan off, I pulled a rod cap so I could take a peek. The bearings looked excellent for 183,000 miles. So, I put bearing back in, torqued the cap to 34ft-lbs and put everything back together.

Problem is, now I've got this awful groaning noise during idle and a small segment of the RPM band. Bleh...
