well the engine went together smooth. i was quite proud of myself; first time ever really doing anything that in depth on a car; almost a full bottom end rebuild.

anyway everything mechanical went together smooth but my tach stopped working; actually it quit before i blew the engine but i thought it was a loose wire; well its not :-/ also my speedo cable snapped the fist time out with the fresh engine And to top it all off my ------- EPROMER-5 is dead; it'll read 'proms but it won't write to ANY of my ------- FIFTY EPROMs. i spent HOURS today erasing them all with the UV but NONE of them will burn I bought the programmer used and i emailed ustr.net and i'm really hoping they help me out but i'm not going to hold my breath.

so now i'm stuck with no tach; only my GPS as a speedo and a 4krpm rev limit (launch control; no VSS = ecu won't see anything over 8mph) and a broke *** programmer when all the nifty TE 2.11 ---- comes out someone hold me

Just short out the heater circuit on your chip burner...it'll fix itself :P j/k man, tough luck!

omg how relieved am i! now to go out and do some driving!

except i know exactly how it stopped working. Seems my wideband when turned off grounds the tach signal or something causing the dash tach to stop working. well today i got the wideband put in in its own bung (narrow band + wide band) so driving around with the wb on the tach was working now to just get a speedo cable and i'll be set
