Default newbie quickie

i keep reading and the more i read the more confused i get and i missed the live session aargh!


whats a .bin and .exp how do i use them

i have a t3 boosted d16a9 pp4 ecu allready chipped just got my max233

any help thanx

.exp the hell if I know what that is. .bin is the actual file that is loaded onto the chip. the max233 is to connect to the cn3 port, isn't it? I think I have one of those (the max233, who doesn't have a cn3 port)

its just looking on other sites like pgmfi looking for base maps i keep coming accros xxxxx.exp and xxxxx.bin
and its hurting my head maybe i`m trying to learn too quick

.exp is a TurboEDIT Map export file. Used to share tunes between users.

.bin is the ECU code into which the .exp files are loaded. The .bin is burned to the chip, and used to run the ECU.

no im not dutch im in the uk got my pp4 from a rover i think same as pp5 doesnt matter as throwing away rom anyway

jason cheers for clearing that up so in order to open a .exp i need to do it via import/export otherwise i can open .bin as normal

the penny drops
