From 93 up they were all turbo. but yeah, they are very unreliable motors. The day you get it you should get an aluminum radiator for it and take off the cats to avoid it from catching on fire which is a very common problem. My buddy had to stand there and watch his 12 second fd go up in flames.

Also apex seals do go bad often

Rotaries run hot. If you buy it plan on laying it up in a shop and replacing EVERY hose under the hood and add a new radiator and fan...

Over time the heat of the turbos/engine corrode the rubber, and **** the engine off.

Rotaries are very very finicky...run one too lean or too hot, and BOOM...they can not take rod knock, and will detonate on the first knock.

But like all turbo engines, proper tuning is the whole game. Make sure you learn ALL You can about them. Ive heard stories of engines blowing on simple bolt-ons because the motor ran a little lean and Ka-boom

i think he meant that the engine won't start knocking when its gettin bad... like a rod/piston engine would. they just go all at once :P
