Got bored today and put on my new shitbird mani, and just blocked off the External WG port on it so I can drive to work. My turbo is a totally homo T3 (its a weird design) and it sits up higher than a normal one would. Looking at the following pictures, do you think my TiAL 38mm (which is 2 days out from UPS) will clear the turbine housing? If not do you think I've got enough meat on the housing to MAKE it clear?

I've looked at a million pics of 38mm's and can't eyeball this... too close to call.

Any input is appreciated.

 

thats really close. but then again. it looks like it'll fit. it'll be a tight fit. and its not like its gonna hit even if theres a lil bit of space since they move together. that manifold is fuckn nice.

 

i dont think that shitbird would put that much time and effort and make it so you couldent make a tial fit

 

I think it'll be a TIGHT fit with that stupid lame T3 (its from like a 1984 VW 2.4L V6 diesel turbo... somehow it made its way over the pond because they never sold those here).

If not, I'm sure a lil die grinder action will make it clear

Ya shitbird does NICE work, but you cant build for every possible turbo out there....

its just 2 pieces of 1/16" steel... mmkay?

 

i tried it that way, and its just NOT an option with the T4B compressor on it. also it was almost impossible to get the oil line on there with the compressor reversed.

 

I'd cut the WG Pipe off the manifold and flip it around so it angles up instead of down.

I bet it fits fine though.

I think it will fit with no problem, but incase it does not, a grinder will work...
