I want to find out for sure if i can put D16A1 pistons into a D16y8 engine . i know it will have crazy compression ratio but will they still clear the valve/piston clearence? any information would be great. THanks

 

yup should work, I dont think you will have valve/piston issues, I could of swore I read somewhere something like 11.5c/r

found some new info it helps for any of u guys going NA like me .
d16a1 pistons (stock bore) in the following with a y8/z6 metal headgasket(no mill):
d16a6= 11.08: 1 compression
d16z6= 12.03: 1 compression
d16y8= 12.61: 1 compression

 

right on.. I knew they were pretty high.. if you end up doing it, let us know how it turns out!

damn! what happens when you throw a VTEC head onto the A6 with the A1 pistons?

 

My guess would be the area of 12.5c/r

 

wow, is that streetable? like 92 pump gas?

 

also woundering the power output of this engine? think it would be like 140-160? umm...anyone seen any dyno graphs of a mini-me in action?
