What's the worst condition that you've ever boosted an engine? Also, what were the results, anyone with good luck boosting an engine without a rebuild, or has everyone with high mileage had their engine blown?

 

ha, some people turbo engines with 200k + miles, if anything, just do a compression test, if the results are good, boost it, if they're bad, boost it and fix it when it blows

 

Yah, I've read about a lot of people who have done compression tests and have had good numbers across the board, but then the leak down tests shows otherwise. Some guys won't rely soley on a compression test. Which leads me to another question, what other tell tale signs are there that the engine won't make it? Compression test, leakdown test and what else?

Mine did ...stock D15B2(MPFI swap)...
I guess I had a strong engine....1 bar ain't no joke...now 10 psi seems like childs play to me. Am never going to boost under 10 psi...the funs starts at 10
