what are other ecu, besides obd?
i am wondering if obd is the only type of ecu, or is it just for honda/acura? What other kinds are there?
I just got a 92 geo storm for a beater, and might get a turbo on there, but need to figure out a managment sysem.

wahooooooo. OBD is not honda specific. OBD is a way of marking generations kind of. Basically the EPA(i believe) made car companies upgrade their computer systems by paticular times to keep up with current laws and such. obd isnt really a defining point of the ECU, its just tell you what years it was made. Some car companies started using the technology earlier than others though. like obd1 had to be in place by 92 i believe but some companies put obd1 ECUs in 91 cars to test the tech and ----.
all in all, if you own a honda, use a honda ecu. Its not worth the headaches to find a compatible ECU

OBD0? More than likely if your Storm is a 92, it's OBD1 which in that case you won't be able to run an OBD0 program. Also, turboedit, ghettodyne,and most of those free toning programs are Honda specific. I don't know if theres a program out there for Geo's. Probably not. You might want to look into wiring up an AFC and some larger injectors for fuel management.
